Meghan and Harry infuriate the palace

Date

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have infuriated the palace with their latest video post in which they openly endorse Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential candidate for the upcoming election this year. Thus, both break with the royal tradition of never interfering with politics. President Trump has already reacted to the statement of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by alleging to have never been a fan of Meghan anyway. Trump was also heard wishing Prince Harry good luck because he would need it, thus implying that Meghan and Harry might have a nasty divorce in the future. Those remarks by Trump are exactly why most royal houses refrain from publicly siding with any political parties.

Meghan and Harry’s public bid for Joe Biden can only be interpreted to further distancing themselves from the British Crown and their traditions. It is more than obvious now that both pursue an outspoken and activist future for themselves. Both are busy helping locally as well as nationally for the causes they are most adamant about. Last month, they helped organizations like Baby 2 Baby handing out childcare items for people in need. Yesterday, the Duchess appeared on America Got Talent praising Archie Williams for his longterm fight against a false prison sentence that saw him wrongfully incarcerated for many years.

Critics on both sides of the pond accuse Harry and Meghan of hypocrisy with both living in a $14 million mansion in Santa Barbara and lecturing the world about politics and environment. Especially Trump supporters felt offended by the Duchess’s public support for Joe Biden calling her a mediocre cable TV actress with no further credentials other than having married a British prince. Many British people criticize Meghan and Harry to having brought shame on to the Queen and the royal family who have for so long tried to keep out of politics and tried to uphold the magic of the Crown. This so-called “magic” is not to be tampered with such profane things like politics but is rather characterized by its superior aura. In her 68 years of reign, Queen Elizabeth II. has never descended on political grounds making sure to be the Queen for all her people.

Meanwhile, William (38) and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, were seen taking on more public duties. Yesterday, Catherine (38) visited Battersea Park meeting with mothers to discuss the hardships of the corona lockdown. Catherine looked fresh and energized sporting pink trousers and a white top. But most of the attention was drawn to her personalized golden necklace that featured the initials of her three children Prince George (7), Princess Charlotte (5) and Prince Louis (2). Catherine came under a lot of fire for not representing the Crown more often in public. She and Prince William took part in a string of video calls but hardly stepped out in public even after many other senior royals, like in Spain and in the Netherlands, already started to up their game.
