The darling of the royal family: Lady Sarah Chatto (a portrait)

Date

One of the most underrated members of the British royal family is in my humble opinion Lady Sarah Chatto! Queen Elizabeth II.’s only niece oozes warm and utterly sympathetic vibes like no other royal in her fold. She seemingly gets along with everyone and is a true darling! See yourself.

This post is dedicated to this beautiful and tender member of the royal family, who turned 57 on May 1.

So grab your mugs, get comfy and enjoy!

Short bio

Sarah Chatto is the only daughter of Princess Margaret, the Queen’s younger sister. The Queen is very fond of her only niece and made sure to have her on as many family occasions as possible. Sarah Chatto was born 57 years ago in Kensington Palace on May 1, where her parents lived in apartment 1A, which is Prince William’s and Kate’s apartment today.

Her father was the famous photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones. Lady Sarah has an older brother: David, 2nd Earl of Snowdon. In 1994, Sarah married Daniel Chatto, a British artist and actor and they have two sons: Samuel Chatto (b 1996) and Arthur Chatto (b 1999).

Well, this picture doesn’t really mirror the close bond between Sarah and her aunt Queen Elizabeth II.

Fun Fact

Prince William and Duchess Catherine’s daughter Princess Charlotte bears a striking resemblance to Sarah Chatto. They even almost share the same birthday, as Charlotte was born on May 2 and Sarah Chatto on May 1!
