More InformationThe new season will have 10 episodes and will focus on the spectacular wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana in 1981. Viewers will glance behind the palace curtains and see how Lady Diana, who is played by Emma Corrin, had to find her way within the royal family in the first years of her marriage. The season will also cover the famous royal tour of Diana and Charles and their baby son Prince William in 1983. Also in focus will be a security breach within Buckingham Palace and the the arrival of Baby Harry who was born in 1984.
The makers of the series have also revealed that season 5 and 6 are in the planning! However, the rift between Prince William and Prince Harry won’t be playing a part since the historical distance is too small and the events are still unfolding. It can be assumed that both seasons will be shot back-to-back like the seasons 3 and 4. So this would mean that fans won’t have to wait too long to watch the last two seasons of one of the most popular drama series Netflix has ever produced.
The Crown has garnered 39 Emmy nominations and won 8 Emmys in total, among Claire Foy (who played the young Queen Elizabeth in the first two seasons) winning an Emmy for Best Lead Actress in 2018. Hopefully the success continues. See here the list of this season’s cast:
