With the upcoming US election this year, it is vital to raise awareness for this matter. This goes especially for women who need to let their voices be heard. In the video the Duchess can be seen telling Gloria Steinem that “People forget how hard women like you and so many others before you fought for us to just be where we are right now.” Gloria Steinem became famous for her efforts to get the Equal Rights Amendment ratified in the US. “If you don’t vote, you don’t exist,” Steinem replies. “It’s the only place where we’re all equal, the voting booth.”

More Information

The Duchess who has made women’s right a top priority ever since she married into the Royal family appears committed to her task. Even before she married into “The Firm” ( as the royal family is also called) she was a keen and avid activist for women’s rights. So this interview is just the latest effort to fight for her cause.

The Duchess revealed that she is happy to be back home in the US “for so many reasons.” This might well be seen as a sign of relief after what appears to have been a long odyssey. Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior royals at the beginning of the year which sent shockwaves through the royal establishment and the royal world. After a couple of months in Canada, the couple moved to LA and then on to their new home in Santa Barbara, which they have jut recently purchased. The interview was most likely conducted in the backyard of Meghan’s and Harry new home.
