The youngest son of Prince Philip (41) and his wife Sofia(35) turns 3 today. For this occasion the couple have released new photographs of the young Prince. The black and white image shows Gabriel in front of his birthday cake which seems to display a dinosaur theme.

Two days ago the palace released photographs showing Prince Gabriel together with his parents visiting a nature reserve in the duchy of Dalarna. Officially Gabriel is not only a Swedish Prince but also the Duke of Dalarna, which is in central Sweden. He is the sixth in line to the throne and has an elder brother named Alexander who is just one year older than him. To mark his third birthday the prince, together with his parents, opened a resting spot for people to take in the beautiful landscape. This resting spot is in honor of Gabriel and was a baptism present from the people of Dalarna.

Prince Philip and his wife are keen for their children to spend as much time outside enjoying and appreciating the nature. Here they can be seen supporting the young Prince Gabriel building and coloring a birdhouse for the nature reserve.

Clearly the family outing proved to be a highlight for the young prince who visited the duchy of Dalarna for the first time. His parents remarked that they surely will return soon. Prince Philip is the only son of King Carl Gustav of Sweden and his wife Queen Silvia.
